Zaragoza reaffirms its position as leader of the sector’s fairs in Spain, with the participation of more than 600 brands
The sixth Zaragoza Furniture Fair will be the show that definitely consolidates it as leader in the Iberian Peninsula, and will certainly generate the inevitable leap towards the markets of the rest of Europe. The figures and growing optimism with regards to this year’s show make it the most eagerly-awaited event, thanks to the more than 600 brands and 106,000 metres of exhibition area, which represent the best figures of its short but positive track record.

From the 24th to the 27th of January, the sectoral epicentre of the furniture market will be located in the Aragonese capital. One of the main features of the coming show is its total commitment to globalisation, thanks to a considerable increase in presence of foreign brands as well as an extensive agenda of meetings between foreign buyers and national brands present at the event.

Undoubtedly FMZ-2018 is backed by its already impressive figures, boding a highly successful fair: right now 100% of the exhibition space available in 2016 has already been covered, and work is ongoing to open up other new spaces such as hall 11, which will add to the 100,000 square metres of the last show. Brands commit to FMZ as an ideal showcase for exhibiting their furniture lines in a comprehensive and highly relevant way.

The fact that all the supply and demand is present in Zaragoza over this four-day period is an important factor to reactivate and boost consumption. Professionals have the opportunity to find solutions, ideas and new mechanisms to enhance and grow their business at this clearly professional event.

FMZ.2018 is set up as a great space for doing business and for buying, with the most competitive, innovative and high-range proposals offered by the market. This year’s fair emerges as a business scenario for the national sector but with its sights set beyond our borders.

To infuse the show with greater dynamism and design, Zaragoza Exhibition Centre has launched the Furniture Design Contest to foster innovation and incentivise joint work between companies and industrial designers. Its aim is to encourage and acknowledge the culture of artistic creation in the furniture sector and demonstrate its success through originality and quality.

The contest comprises four project categories: the first for innovative furniture, another for innovation in rest products, lighting, as well as a fourth for contract solutions. Moreover, both professionals and students can participate, the aim being to recognise and reward both the design of professionals and that of the industry’s future creators.

All those interested can present their candidacies up to the 29th of November by sending the documentation to Zaragoza Exhibition Centre.

In this year’s initiative FMZ becomes a unique tool for professionals, with the opportunity to discover nine halls full of innovation, design and avant-garde proposals. This show will fill more than 106,000 square metres of Zaragoza Exhibition Centre’s facilities, distributed into nine exhibition areas, accommodating more than 600 brands. These impressive figures highlight the interest that the show has aroused in companies and in the market in general.
